Video footage broadcast by NHK showed the Japan Airlines plane bursting into flames shortly after colliding with an aircraft parked on the runway. At this time, flames and smoke can be seen coming out of the window of the aircraft.

According to media reports, Japan Airlines flight JAL-516, which caught fire, had taken off from Hokkaido Airport with 400 passengers on board. It crashed while landing at Haneda Airport.

It is Japan’s worst plane crash since 1985. It is the deadliest plane crash in Japan since 1985. At that time a passenger plane crashed in Gunma area killing 520 passengers.
