Two people, including a motorcyclist, were killed in separate road accidents at Baraigram and Lalpur in Natore. Two separate accidents took place at Mahishbhanga on Banpara-Hatikumrul highway in Baraigram and Gauripur on Lalpur-Ishwardi regional road of Lalpur upazila on Thursday evening.
The deceased were identified as motorcyclist Omar Farooq, son of Darud Zaman of Choupakia village of Tarash upazila of Sirajganj and pedestrian Alam Mondal, son of Gani Mandal of Sara Gopalpur village of Ishwardi upazila of Pabna.
Habibur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Banpara Highway Police Station and locals said that the truck hit a passenger bus of Hanif KTC Paribahan from Dhaka to Rajshahi on Thursday evening. In this Hanif Paribahan KTC bus went and hit the motorcycle. The motorcycle went under the bus and the motorcyclist died on the spot. On receiving the information, members of the Highway Police and Fire Service reached the spot, recovered the body and impounded the truck and the bus.
On the other hand, Alam Mandal was standing next to the market in Gauripur area of Ishwardi-Lalpur regional highway of Lalpur while visiting his in-laws house. Meanwhile, a fast motorcycle going to Lalpur hit him and ran away. Alam Mandal was seriously injured. Locals rescued him while injured and took him to Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
