2 killed including CNG driver in bus accident in Mymensingh

Two people, including a CNG driver, were killed in a bus accident in Mymensingh’s Trishal. Three others were injured in the incident. The accident took place in front of the fish farm next to Trishal Kabi Nazrul Auditorium on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway around 2 pm today.

The deceased are Mofazzal Hossain (28), son of Imtiaz Ali of Harirampur union of the upazila and CNG driver Habibur Rahman (35), son of Nashir Uddin of the same area.

They died while undergoing treatment at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital around 3:30 pm on Friday. Deputy Inspector (SI) of police on duty of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. Jahangir Alam confirmed these facts.

According to police and local sources, a bus bound for Mymensingh from Dhaka rammed a CNG bound for Trishal in front of the fish farm next to Trishal Kabi Nazrul Auditorium. 5 people including the CNG driver were injured. Later the locals rescued them and sent them to the local upazila health complex. As their condition was serious, the doctor on duty shifted them to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. Later, CNG drivers Habibur Rahman and Mofazzal Hossain died while undergoing treatment there around 3:30 pm. Three others are under treatment in hospital.

Sub-Inspector (SI) of Trishal Police Station. Alamgir Hossain said, ‘The bus has been seized after receiving the news. Legal action is under process in this incident.’
