The police recovered the bodies of two persons from Dhaka Medical College (Dhamek) Hospital and Paltan Police Station area of Shahbag police station in the capital.
The police recovered the body of a 65-year-old man in an unconscious state from in front of Ward No. 105 of DMK Hospital around 1:00 p.m. today.
The cleaners of DMEC said that the person was seen lying unconscious in front of Ward 105 on Wednesday around noon. Later he was rescued and brought to the emergency department where the doctor in charge declared him dead.
When asked about this, Deputy Inspector (SI) Shahbagh Police Station Noor Alam Munshi said that after receiving the news, the body was recovered from the mortuary of the emergency department of DMK. After the postmortem report, the body has been sent to the morgue for post-mortem.
The SI also said that the name of the person was not immediately known. Therefore, with the help of technology, efforts are being made to know his identity. Legal proceedings are ongoing in this regard.
On the other hand, the police recovered the body of a 60-year-old man from the footpath in front of Maulana Bhasani Stadium of Paltan Police Station. The police recovered the body around noon on Wednesday and sent it to the morgue in Dhamek for post-mortem.
The SI of Paltan police station confirmed the matter. Shah Alam. He said that after receiving the news, the body was recovered from the spot and sent to the morgue of DMK for post-mortem.
The SI also said that the name and identity of the person was not known after asking the people around. Therefore, with the help of CID crime scene members, efforts are being made to identify him. Legal proceedings are ongoing in this regard.
