At least 13 people have been killed in a fire at a school dormitory in China’s Henan province. The fire happened at 11 pm local time. The country’s state news agency Xinhua reported this information.
It said 13 people were killed and one injured in a fire at the dormitory of Yangkai School in Yanshanpu Village, Henan Province. Rescue workers rushed to the spot soon after the incident. The fire was brought under control at 11:38. One person has been hospitalized with burns. His condition is now stable.
Authorities are trying to find the cause of the fire, Xinhua said. One suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident. However, it is not known how many children were among the dead.
