Dense fog caused complications in the landing of 13 international flights at Shahjalal Airport till 9 am on Thursday. Later flights landed at Sylhet, Chittagong, Kolkata and Hyderabad.
According to the Shahjalal airport authorities, due to the fog, the flight could not land at night because the runway could not be seen. Due to this, the night flights were diverted to Sylhet, Chittagong, Kolkata and Hyderabad. 13 flights could not land in Dhaka from 2 pm to 9 am.
The airport authorities also said that the flights returned to Dhaka airport when the fog cleared around 9:40 am. Passengers are in trouble due to long waiting times at various airports.
