1 killed in truck-autorickshaw collision in Pabna

A woman named Chameli Begum (50) was killed in a head-on collision between a dump truck and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw in Bhangura, Pabna. The accident took place in front of Rangalia gas pump of upazila on Tebunia-Baghabari regional road at around 2 pm on Sunday.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhangura Police Station Nazmul Haque confirmed this information.

6 people including auto rickshaw driver were injured in this incident. Deceased Chameli is the wife of deceased Abdur Razzak of Shahjadpur Upazila of Sirajganj.

The injured are Nachima Khatun (50), Zilhaq (42), Tawhida Khatun (9), Nurjahan Jahan (52), Khairul Islam (32) and autorickshaw driver Abdul Jalil (45). The homes of the injured are in Chatmohar, Atgharia and Ullapara upazilas of Sirajganj.

On receiving the information, police and fire service personnel rescued the injured and admitted them to Bhangura Upazila Health Complex.

According to police and local sources, a CNG-driven autorickshaw coming from the opposite direction collided head-on with a dump truck leaving Baghabari in front of Rangalia gas pump of upazila on Tebunia-Baghbari regional road around 2 pm on Sunday. A woman named Chameli Begum who was riding the autorickshaw was killed on the spot. Besides, 6 people including the autorickshaw driver were seriously injured.

In this regard, Bhangura Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nazmul Haque said, ‘The body has been recovered and sent to Pabna General Hospital morgue. The truck and the autorickshaw have been seized. The case is being prepared.’
